FASHION PARTNER FAQS
Book a clothing collection
What kind of clothing do you accept?
We accept brand new clothing, shoes and accessories.
The donations must be new and unworn. The clothes should be in wearable condition and ideally the tags should still be attached, as this provides those in vulnerable positions with the highest form of dignity when receiving the clothing.
If your items are faulty or soiled, they will most likely not be suitable for distribution by Thread Together. Please consider a textile recycling service for these items – please get in touch with us at communications@threadtogether.org if you would like to discuss whether your items are suitable.
Is there a minimum donation?
There is no minimum donation requirement.
How do we get the stock to Thread Together?
Can you pick up the stock from anywhere?
We are able to collect stock from anywhere in Australia. When you fill in our donation form we will ask you for the pick up location, number of parcels or pallets and for contact details in order to arrange the date and time of collection.
You are also welcome to arrange for delivery to our Sydney fulfilment centre yourselves if you prefer.
Is there any fee to donate clothing?
Thread Together does not charge to take clothing donations. However, we do ask that if you are able to make a contribution to support us with the logistics and delivery of our service to those in need, that would be most welcome. Please click here to make a tax deductible donation.
Is there any particular type of clothing you need?
We are always in need of essential items such as underwear, socks, t-shirts, jeans, track pants etc. as well as warm garments, such as sweatshirts / hoodies and casual jackets. Plus size clothing and children’s clothing is always in demand as well.
How else can we support Thread Together?
A number of our fashion partners help us in multiple ways, from collecting donations from customers at point of sale, to sponsoring our mobile wardrobes.
