Our (mobile) wardrobes

Delivering clothes directly to people in need

In 2018 AnglicareSA and Thread Together launch an Australian first – purpose-fitted mobile wardrobes to bring brand new clothes to communities, making a huge difference in people’s lives, bringing hope and dignity.

Working with those at risk of homelessness, culturally and linguistically diverse and indigenous communities as well as victims of domestic violence, the mobile wardrobes will support those in our community that need it most.

AnglicareSA has been providing support to South Australia’s most vulnerable since 1860. The organisation makes a positive difference to the lives of more than 58,000 elderly, homeless, unemployed and financially disadvantaged people each year.

AnglicareSA’s diverse services include refugee and migrant settlement, tenancy services, out-of-home care, disability support services, youth work, foster care, mental health accommodation and outreach, counselling services, community and affordable housing, child care, community capacity building and low-income support programs, and residential, community and home based aged care services.

Our wonderful shopfitting partners Storepro have generously donated fitout for all 20 planned Wardrobes.

Be a sponsor

Inside our Wardrobes, people can change their clothes and their lives. These spaces are secure and welcoming, giving people in need the chance to try on and choose clothes to suit their personal circumstances, personality and taste. Often, this can be the first crucial step towards finding employment, making community connections or simply feeling valued as a person.

Maintained by our charity partners, with corporate sponsors funding operational expenses, Wardrobes are a true collaborative initiative that give all involved an opportunity to make a huge impact on our community.

Sponsor a wardrobe

Thread Together offers a range of flexible sponsorship options to suit organisations looking for ways to make a meaningful contribution to the community at an individual level.

Wardrobe
You can contribute by sponsoring an on-site wardrobe placed at a charity or community centre location. Choose from sponsoring one wardrobe within a sector that suits your organisation’s values, or sponsor wardrobes across a whole sector. For example, support one women’s refuge, or support all women’s refuges with Thread Together.

By sponsoring a Wardrobe, you can engage your team in meaningful and rewarding programs and team-building activities by getting them involved, from managing inventory to helping our customers.

– Sponsorship includes branding on site, and listing as a sponsor on all marketing material, including the Thread Together website
– Sponsorship fee is based on the number of clients expected to be helped. $5 provides one person with a full wardrobe, so a sponsorship fee is quickly calculated based on these numbers.
– Minimum term is 2 years
– 100% tax deductible.

Mobile Wardrobe
Our Mobile Wardrobe initiative takes our concept directly to the needy, with fully fitted out mobile vans taking Thread Together to the streets and the people. This concept allows us to provide grassroots support to those sleeping rough, or support disaster relief initiatives such as post-bushfire.

Like our on-site wardrobes, by sponsoring a Mobile Wardrobe you create an opportunity for your staff to participate in rewarding and meaningful personal development and team building activities.

– Sponsorship includes highly visible and mobile branding on van, and listing as a sponsor on all marketing material, including the Thread Together website
– Sponsorship fees are $80,000 for initial investment in year 1, and $20,000 p.a. thereafter
– Minimum term is 2 years
– 100% tax deductible
